Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation we have changed the way we prepare and sign Wills. This is to ensure the safety of everyone involved and we thank you for your understanding in this matter. We are endeavouring to make use of email and online bank transfers as much as possible.

The process can be summarised as follows:

Stage 1:

Initial appointments to take your instructions are conducted via video conferencing (i.e. Skype or Zoom) or telephone. The initial appointment usually takes between 60-90 minutes.

Stage 2:

Your client care letter, which sets out your instructions, our advice, and the costs involved will be emailed (or if necessary posted) to you. Please then sign and return a signed scanned copy/ photo of the signature page via email. Please also confirm any alterations that you may require. If you are not able to return the client care letter please contact us to confirm your instructions.

Stage 3: 

Once you have confirmed your instructions, we ask that the full amount due is paid on account. This invoice can be settled by way of bank transfer, debit/credit card payment via telephone, or by cheque.

Stage 4:

Once monies on account have been received, we will send you the Will, by post, for consideration. Once received we ask that you do not sign the document but arrange another appointment with us (via video conferencing or telephone) to go through the draft Will with you and explain the contents. This appointment usually takes 15-20 minutes.

Stage 5:

Once the Will has been approved, we will visit you at your home and arrange for the Will to be signed and witnessed at your doorstep/window, and at a safe distance. This appointment will take 5-10 minutes. The original Will will be stored in our safe and copies will be sent to you in the post for your records.
