STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualified - additional expertise that most other solicitors do not have. The internationally recognised STEP qualification is known amongst solicitors and other professionals as being the highest and most specialised standard achievable in the area of Wills and Probate. The qualification entails four three hour examinations in the Administration of Estates; the Administration of Trusts, the Taxation of Trusts and Estates and Trusts and Estates Accounts.
Association of Lifetime Lawyers qualified - expertise specific to older/elderly ladies & gentlemen - We are qualified to hold The Older Client Law in Practice award and the Older Client Care in Practice award. Sue is our Office Administrator, and her main role is assisting Diane with compliance, training and procedures. She is a non-practicing solicitor, having qualified and previously worked in Berkshire, before moving to Drighlington and starting a family.
In her spare time, Sue enjoys family walks with her Labrador and is also Team Manager for her son’s Cleckheaton Rugby team.
Luke is a Solicitor at D Burke & Co and primarily deals with both Wills and Powers of Attorney, and the conveyancing and property work, including probate sales, freehold and leasehold sale and purchases, voluntary registration, and transfers of part, acting for both individuals and commercial clients.
Luke joined the firm in 2014 as a paralegal and qualified as a Solicitor in 2019. He originally studied Geography at Sheffield and upon attaining his undergraduate degree, decided to convert to Law.
Luke successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Law with commendation at York College of Law, then went on to achieve a distinction in the Legal Practice Course, studied at Leeds University of Law in 2016.
Luke enjoys the insights into the local Morley and Leeds area which conveyancing provides. He is known for providing excellent client care and advising clients in a simple and straightforward manner.
In his spare time, Luke enjoys skiing, attending music festivals and snoozing on the sofa with his cat Prince.
Hannah is a trainee solicitor with the firm and assists the solicitors with their work regarding Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Conveyancing.
